Cloudera, a Palo Alto, California-based provider of Apache Hadoop-based data management software and services, has secured $25m in a Series C financing.
The round was led by Meritech Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors, Accel Partners and Greylock Partners. This funding, which follows a $6m Series B investment led by Greylock Partners in June 2009, brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $36m.
The new capital will be used to further invest in product development and services to support growth and adoption of Hadoop, a scalable, and fault-tolerant system for data storage and processing..
Cloudera Enterprise and Cloudera’s Distribution are designed to make it faster and easier for large and small organizations in financial services, web, telecommunications, government and other industries, to put Hadoop into production.
