Imi Fondi Chiusi, SGR, an Italian investment firm, has held the first close of Atlante Private Equity at $150m.
Imi Fondi Chiusi, which is a subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo, focuses on investing in Italian small and medium sized companies and hi-tech start ups.
Atlante Private Equity will follow this strategy and will invest from €5m and €15m in companies across Italy.
The new fund, whose final target is at €250m, is managed by a team of 18 professionals.
It is led by Imi Fondi Chiusi CEO Fabio Borsoi, Walter Comelli, fund manager for the North of Italy, and Antonio Finocchi Ghersi, manager for the Center and the South.
