MedAdherence LLC, a Norwalk, Conn.-based healthcare information technology company, received a $150k Pre-Seed financing from Connecticut Innovations (CI).
The company, which has secured required matching funds from private investors, intends to use the funding to continue development of its technology, complete current beta testing (with Tulane University School of Medicine) and secure additional customers.
Led by CEO and founder Jonathan Katz, MedAdherence provides an automated system that enables doctors to monitor patient adherence to care plans remotely and intervene via cell phones, text messaging and the Internet. The technology is suited to assist patients with any kind of chronic illness like diabetes, heart disease and asthma.
The company also partners with Verizon Wireless to support a new mobile healthcare initiative.
