Ark, a San Francisco, CA-based personal search company, recently raised $4.2m in seed funding.
Backers included Andreessen Horowitz, Charles River Ventures, Greylock, Intel Capital, SV Angel, Atlas Ventures, Crosslink Capital, Expansion, Venture Capital, Felicis Ventures, Lightbank, Salesforce, Tencent, Transmedia Capital and unnamed angel investors.
The company is using the funding to expand their current mobile and search engineering teams, and build out their personal search products.
Graduated from YCombinator’s Winter 2012 class and led by founders Yiming Liu and Patrick Riley, CEO, Ark currently offers a modern people search engine that enables you to search through public profiles and the private data of a user’s friends across Facebook, Google, LinkedIn and other networks.
In addition, the company will soon enable users to search through information across all social networks from one place.
