Online bulletin board Pinterest has raised $100m in funding.
The round was led by Rakuten (JASDAQ:4755), with participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, and FirstMark Capital, as well as a number of angel investors.
The company intends to use the funding to continue improving its service and expanding its community globally.
Led by Ben Silbermann, co-founder and CEO, Pinterest aims to help people discover things they love, by connecting people through their shared interests.
With the investment, Rakuten will introduce Pinterest in Japan and into other global markets.
