Moontoast, a Boston and Nashville-based provider of a social rich media advertising platform, raised $5m in Series B financing.
The round was led by the Martin Companies, LLC, with participation from unnamed existing investors (read here).
The company intends to use the capital to further develop its platform, and expand its business development, sales and client services efforts. It is also adding to its marketing and product development teams.
CEO Blair Heavey and CTO Marcus Whitney, Moontoast provides brands and agencies with a Social Activation Platform to execute social campaigns, with rich media experiences, It aims to drive consumers along the purchase journey and reaches them through intelligent targeting on social and mobile.
The Moontoast platform, whose latest version has been just released, is used by brands such as Universal, Lexus, Nike, Ford, Lady Antebellum, Time Inc. and Simon & Schuster.
In June of 2012, the company was recognized as a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD).
