MyCheck, a checkout app for restaurants and other businesses, completed $6.1m in Series A financing.
The round consisted of an initial $1.7m seed, and $4.2m which completed it. Backers included the Saban Capital Group, former GTC Poland Chairman, Eli Elroy, Colmobil Vice Chairman Yoav Harlap, and existing investors the Wertheimer Family, among others. Supermodel Bar Refaeli and Eitan Wertheimer are also investors in the company, which will use the funds to expand its presence in existing markets and accelerate user adoption.
Founded in Israel in March 2011 by by Tal Zvi Nathanel, US CEO, MyCheck provides a mobile payment app working in hospitality and other sectors. PCI compliant and free to download, the app is accepted at more than 3000 places worldwide.
The company has operations in Tel Aviv, London and New York.
