Coho Data, a Vancouver, Canada-based provider of software-defined networking integrated storage appliances for high performance at cloud-scale, closed a $25m Series B funding.
The round was led by new investor Ignition Partners, with participation from existing investor Andreessen Horowitz. In conjunction with the funding, Frank Artale, Managing Director from Ignition Partners, joined Coho Data’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate R&D and go-to-market efforts as it prepares for general availability of Coho DataStream later in 2013.
Founded in 2011 by Ramana Jonnala, CEO, Coho Data delivers storage solutions for the cloud generation. The company just emerged from stealth to launch its flash-tuned scale-out storage architecture designed for the private cloud (the Coho DataStream 1000), which promise to deliver 18x the performance of traditional storage and 2x the price/performance of all-flash array.
Coho Data also has offices in Sunnyvale, California and is hiring.
