Drizly, Inc., a Boston, MA-based provider of an app for beer, wine and liquor delivery, raised $2.25m in seed funding.
Backers included Atlas Ventures, Abundance Partners, Breakaway Ventures, Continental Advisors, Fairhaven Capital and Reynolds & Company Venture Partners, Lars Albright, Tom Crotty, Ty Danco, Walt Doyle, Chase Garbarino, Julian Jung, Alex Keith, Pat Kinsel, T.J. Mahony, Chris Merrill, Charles Meyer, Ivan Mitrovic and Fred Shilmover.
Led by Nick Rellas, founder and CEO, Drizly aims to become “the Amazon.com for alcohol” via its iPhone app (Android coming soon) that gives consumers the opportunity to get alcohol delivered quickly, typically within 30 minutes and provides retail stores with tools to offer on-demand liquor delivery.
It is availabloe in New York City and Boston.
The company has also announced a partnership with Pernod Ricard, a worldwide leader in wine and spirits production, centered around promotion, education and brand awareness.
