Blue Apron, a New York-based startup that delivers fresh ingredients needed to cook meals at home, raised $50m in Series C funding.
The round was led by led by Stripes Group, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and First Round Capital.
The company intends to use the funds for business growth, including hiring across all divisions, geographic expansion, additional warehouse space and investment in operations technology, marketing, and in supplier partnerships.
Launched in 2012 by Matt Salzberg, chief executive officer, Blue Apron delivers original recipes and fresh ingredients to customers nationwide.
The company currently delivers over 600,000 meals per month.
