Ele.me, a Shanghai, China-based meal delivery startup, secured US$630m in Series F funding.
The round was led by CITIC Capital and Hualian, a supermarket chain, with participation from existing backers Tencent, JD, and Sequoia Capital.
The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Founded in 2008 by Xuhao Zhang, Ele.me operates an online platform offering customer-to-customer meal ordering services and works as a communication channel between users and restaurants.
The app is available for iOS and Android.
