ZeroStack, a Mountain View-CA-based new cloud computing company which has just come out of stealth, raised $5.6m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Foundation Capital. The company also appointed Mark Leslie, founder and CEO at Veritas Software, to the board.
Co-founded by CEO Ajay Gulati and CTO Kiran Bondalapati, ZeroStack offers both private and public clouds in a single solution that combines on-premise deployment and a SaaS platform – allowing customers to consume a self-service cloud without in-house expertise or time.
The on-premise hyper-converged system is combined with SaaS-based operational capabilities. The SaaS platform provides monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity planning and chargeback using an analytics engine which enables predictive failure detection with proactive resolution.
The company is targeting customers in the technology sector and vertical industries including education, pharmaceuticals, biotech, oil and gas, media, retail and state and local government.
