AirGrub, a Millbrae, CA-based developer of a mobile app for air travelers to pre-order and pick up freshly prepared food without waiting in line, secured $1.5m in angel funding.
The backers remained undisclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Led by Surya Panditi, CEO, AirGrub allows travelers to take control of their food choices at the airport. Launched at San Francisco International Airport in July 2015, AirGrub has doubled its orders and continues to increase downloads, users and revenue growth.
Beyond San Francisco International Airport, it is available at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and Logan International Airport in Boston.
The company’s advisory board includes Shannon Stubo, LinkedIn’s CMO and SVP of corporate communications, former Cisco Chief Marketing Officer Blair Christie, Judith Byrd, president of Byrd Retail Group, and Joshua Reynolds, head of marketing at Quantifind.
