Invesdor, a Helsinki, Finland-based equity and debt crowdfunding platform, raised funding from Manny Fernandez, a San Francisco angel investor.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Led by co-founder and CEO Lasse Mäkelä, Invesdor runs a pan-European debt and equity crowdfunding service. Founded in 2012, the platform has so far facilitated the raising of more than €9.6m for 39 crowdfunding projects.
The company itself has raised more than €1.8m for building its platform, most of which has been raised through crowdfunding.
Following the investment, Invesdor will subsequently form an alliance with San Francisco-based equity crowdfunding platform DreamFunded.com, which is led by the same Fernandez, to bring investors and capital from Silicon Valley and Europe closer to each other.
DreamFunded.com provides access to both early stage and proven, pre-IPO tech to over 4,000 accredited investors worldwide.
Fernandez, who will be appointed as an advisor to Invesdor, is also founder and President of SF Angels Group, an invite-only, 32-angel investor group based in San Francisco.
He received the San Francisco Angel Investor of the year award in 2014.
