London, UK and New York-based venture capital firm Octopus Ventures has added Zihao Xu, e-commerce entrepreneur and former management consultant, to its investment team.
Xu has joined Octopus Ventures as an Investment Associate from Roland Berger Strategy Consultants with six years of consultancy experience spanning across the aerospace, defence, automotive, industrials and private equity sectors. An entrepreneur himself, he is also as the founder of a sunglasses and lifestyle brand Canopy Sunglasses.
Part of the Octopus group, Octopus Ventures invests from £250,000 to £25 million in a first round of funding of tech startups and looks to follow in subsequent rounds. The firm has funded over 60 companies, including Conversocial, graze.com, LoveFiLM, Property Partner, Secret Escapes, Sofar Sounds, SwiftKey, Swoon Editions, Uniplaces, tails.com, Zoopla Property Group and Zynstra.
