Redpoint Ventures Closes $180M VC Fund Focused on China

redpointThe Chinese team of venture capital firm Redpoint Ventures has closed a $180m fund.

According to a regulatory document filed with the SEC, 25 backers participated in the offering of ACE Redpoint Ventures China I, L.P.

The filing lists David Yuan, Tony Wu, and Reggie Zhang as people related to the raise.

Founded in 1999, Redpoint Ventures invest in startups across the seed, early and growth phases. To date, it has backed over 465 companies with 140 IPOs and M&As, including trailblazers 2U, HomeAway, Heroku, Netflix, PureStorage, Twilio and Zendesk.
The firm, which manages over $3.9 billion across multiple funds, is based in Menlo Park and has offices in San Francisco.

In China, Redpoint has offices in Shanghai and Beijing. The team also includes Kyle Liu and and Alex Zhang.
