SafeGraph, a San Francisco, CA-based machine learning data company, raised $16m in Series A funding.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop its platform and make it available to customers globally.

Co-founded by CEO Auren Hoffman and Brent Perez, SafeGraph aims to help answer humanity’s biggest questions by providing access to a large dataset that predicts the past to figure out what to do next. As a first product, the company has developed a geospatial data platform that gives users including urban planners, retailers, academic researchers, marketers, investors access to an accurate record for understanding human movement.
