Cumulus Networks Raises $43M in Series D Financing

Cumulus Networks, a Mountain View, Calif.-based company which bringing web-scale networking to enterprise cloud, closed $43M in Series D funding.

The round – which brings total funding to $129m – was led by Telstra Ventures, with participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Battery Ventures and Sequoia Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Mark Sherman from Telstra Ventures will join the Cumulus Networks board of directors as an observer.

The company will use the funds to expand its sales force, invest in its marketing programs with a particular focus on reaching new customers in EMEA and Asia Pacific, expand its presence within Fortune 500 enterprises and service providers, and continue to focus on bringing innovative networking products to market.

Led by Josh Leslie, CEO, Cumulus Networks provides Cumulus Linux, which allows companies of all sizes to build and operate their networks just like large data centers and free themselves from expensive proprietary network stacks.
The company now serves more than 800 customers.
