Mode, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a collaborative data science platform, raised $23m in Series C funding.
The round, which has brought total funding raised to date to $50m, was led by Valor Equity Partners, with participation from Foundation Capital and REV Venture Partners, Jake Klamka, founder and CEO of Insight Data Science, and Tribe Capital. In conjunction with the funding, David Obrand, a partner at Valor, joined Mode’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to hire across multiple teams to build a better experience for customers, including hiring in New York, and invest in features for managing large deployments, as well as improving the discoverability of the most important answers that customers find with Mode.
Founded in 2013 by Derek Steer, Benn Stancil, and Josh Ferguson, Mode provides data teams and domain experts with a collaborative platform to work together to find answers, solve problems and make better decisions.
The company has over 600 customers and over 70 employees in San Francisco.
