BigID Raises $50M in Series C Funding

bigidBigID, a NYC- and Tel Aviv, Israel-based data-centric personal data privacy and protection platform, raised $50m in Series C funding.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors SAP.io Fund, Comcast Ventures, Boldstart Ventures, Scale Venture Partners and ClearSky, as well as new investor, Salesforce Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Alex Ferrara, partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, will join the BigID Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand global sales and engineering and introduce new products for data privacy, data governance and protection.

Led by Dimitri Sirota, CEO, and co-founder, and Nimrod Vax, co-founder and Chief Product Officer, BigID uses advanced machine learning and identity intelligence to provide enterprises with tools to protect their customer and employee data at petabyte scale. Using BigID, enterprises can safeguard and assure the privacy of their most sensitive data, reducing breach risk and enabling compliance with emerging data protection regulations like the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation and California Consumer Privacy Act.
The company, which has raised $96m in funding since its founding in 2016, has 150 employees globally.
