Clio (Themis Solutions Inc.), a Vancouver, BC—based cloud legal technology company, raised US$250m in Series D funding.
Backers included TCV and JMI Equity. In conjunction with the funding, Matt Emery, General Partner at JMI Equity, joined Clio’s board of directors along with Mark Britton, former Expedia executive and founder of legal marketplace Avvo.com.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by Jack Newton, CEO and Co-founder, Clio provides lawyers with a suite of cloud- based solutions, including legal practice management, client intake and legal CRM software. The company’s 150,000 customers spanning 100 countries can expect to see ongoing investment in Clio’s offerings, with more flexible tools for legal professionals to manage and grow their practices.
