BlueNalu Raises $20M in Series A Financing

BlueNalu, a San Diego, CA-based innovative food company producing seafood directly from fish cells, closed its $20m Series A round of funding.

The round was co-led by Stray Dog Capital, CPT Capital, New Crop Capital, and Clear Current Capital, with participation from Nutreco, Griffith Foods, Pulmuone, Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, Rich Products Ventures, and KBW Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to develop a good manufacturing practices (GMP) pilot production facility in San Diego, expand its team, implement strategic alliances for global operations and distribution, and prepare for its market launch.

Led by Lou Cooperhouse, president & CEO, BlueNalu provides cellular aquaculture seafood products supporting the sustainability and diversity of the ocean. The company first established its operations in 2018.
