Backers included Floodgate, Initialized Capital, Credo Ventures and Naval Ravikant.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by CEO Dominik Zane, Around provides a video calling platform for the workplace built around the laptop and the open office. Participants in video calling appear in small, circular windows that crop out background clutter, while video-processing AI keeps the camera focused on the callers’ faces, even as they move around. It leaves the rest of the screen free, so users can take notes, write code or work in apps like GDocs, Figma, Invision, Miro and Pitch. The solution is integrated with Slack. The company also has outposts in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
