Nylas, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of communications APIs for developers, raised $25m in Series B funding.
The round was led by 8VC and Round13 Capital, with participation from existing investors Spark Capital, ScaleUP, and Slack Fund. Additionally, new investors Citi Ventures joined the round.
The company intends to use the funds to scale sales and marketing activities while accelerating product innovation.
Led by Gleb Polyakov, CEO, Nylas provides an API platform that enables developers to quickly and securely access and process user data from any email, calendar, and contacts provider in the world. The solution allows developers to integrate complex, unstructured communications data into their applications in days, providing secure pre-built integrations that are SOC 2 certified, GDPR compliant, Privacy Shield certified, and HIPAA and FINRA-ready.
Nylas has over 450 customers globally — including companies such as Comcast, Hyundai, Realtor.com, Dialpad, Freshworks, Pipedrive, Qualia, and Clio. Over 40,000 software developers around the world use it to serve over 1.2B API calls and sync 15TB of data daily.
The funding follows the recent acquisition of June.ai, a developer of AI-powered productivity tools that perform autonomous tasks across users’ inboxes, such as organizing messages, surfacing attachments, automating responses, and highlighting important interactions. The integration of June.ai’s core technology expands the capabilities of the platform into intelligent workflow automation.
The company plans to double its workforce over the next 12 months and is hiring across locations in San Francisco, New York City, and Denver as well as building a dedicated engineering team in Toronto, Canada.
