ngmoco Raises $25M and Acquires iPhone Game-Maker Freeverse

-

ngmoco, a San Francisco-based creator and publisher of social games for iPhone OS devices, has raised $25m in its Series C financing
The round was led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), with participation from the company’s previous investors, including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Norwest Venture Partners and Maples Investments.
As a part of the round, IVP General Partner, Sandy Miller, has joined ngmoco’s board of directors.
Since its inception in 2008, the company has reached significant milestones with the introduction of Eliminate Pro and Touch Pets Dogs, the acquistion of iPhone OS social MMO company Miraphonic and the Epic Wars brand, as well as the launch of the player network, Plus+.
The new funds will enable ngmoco to hire new professionals, create new games and leverage unique experience and technology to enable Plus+ as a development platform for partners to build and monetize free-to-play experiences.
The company has also announced that it has acquired iPhone game-maker Freeverse, whose portfolio include Skee-Ball, Moto Chaser, Flick Fishing, SlotZ Racer, Flick Bowling and NBA Hotshot, among many others.
