ThisNext, Inc., a Santa Monica, CA-based Social e-commerce company, announced that it acquired Stylehive, a fashion and beauty social-shopping site, and that it raised an undisclosed Series C round of funding.
Stylehive is a fashion and beauty community with over 600,000 registered users, which reveals the best new products from across the Web. Editors and bloggers provide an editorial layer on top of the crowd sourced content, providing comprehensive coverage.
The capital infusion, which was provided by Clearstone Venture Partners, Anthem Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners, will be used to develop additional shopping tools, as well as facilitate commerce functionality.
In addition, the funds will enable the company to accelerate the growth of Curatemedia, a newly launched corporate brand aimed at developing brands that help consumers discover and shop new products.
Commenting on the deals, Scott Morrow, Curatemedia CEO, was quoted to say: “These announcements strengthen the company’s leadership position in social shopping and are the first steps toward developing a network of vertically focused social shopping sites.
“Social shopping is about enabling a lifestyle though products. We are proud to have pioneered this idea and are excited about bringing social shopping to other verticals”.
