A new project will help accelerate the growth of over 70 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) based in North East England.
County Durham Development Company (CDDC) has secured funding from the European Union, One North East, Durham County Council and the private sector to provide “NETPark Net“, a range of online innovation services, facilities and expertise to SMEs.
As explained by Catherine Johns, Director of Innovation Development at CDDC, NETPark Net offers a business support environment with access to personalised content and proactive information via an online platform.
It also provides one to one workshops, clinics and events which cover a range of topics including innovation, collaboration and consultancy services that will help businesses grow and flourish.
The project is being funded by the European Union’s ERDF Competitiveness Programme 2007-13, securing £221,000 ERDF investment through regional development agency One North East.
The agency is contributing a further £165,000 from its Single Programme, with £326,000 from Durham County Council.
The initiative is part of the Business Growth Facilities and Environments product under Solutions for Business, the Government’s package of publicly funded business support designed to help companies start and grow.
