Biomedical Structures LLC, a Warwick, RI-based supplier of custom-designed biomaterials and textiles used in advanced clinical applications from orthopedics and reconstructive surgery to tissue engineering, has completed an undisclosed private equity financing with Ampersand Ventures.
BMS, which specializes in the design and manufacturing of crafted, nonwoven fibers and biomaterials such as tissue scaffolds and woven vascular grafts for biomedical applications, serves as a partner to device companies to transform concepts into early prototypes, optimize them through development cycles, and to serve as the contract manufacturer for final products.
End products include a range of 510(k) approved, implantable devices, components for surgical procedures, and drug delivery tools.
The new funds will enable the company to grow with new personnel, more advanced equipment, and increased manufacturing capacity.
Ampersand partners, Todd Rainville and Herb Hooper, have joined Biomedical Structures’ board of directors.
