DFine, Inc., a San Jose, CA-based developer of minimally invasive solutions for treating vertebral pathologies, has closed a $36.2m equity financing round.
The investment was led by new investor Split Rock Partners, with participation from OrbiMed, Prospect Venture Partners, Vanguard Ventures, BBT Fund/Apothecary Capital, Highland Capital Management and other private investors.
In conjunction with this latest funding, Josh Baltzell of Split Rock and Jonathan Silverstein of OrbiMed will join the company’s board of directors.
The new capital will enable the DFine to further support the commercialization of its StabiliT® Vertebral Augmentation System, a of Radio Frequency (RF) Kyphoplasty aimed at stabilizing vertebral fractures, relieving pain and improving patient quality of life, and other promising products in the pipeline.
