Care.com, Inc., a web site that allows families to connect with babysitters, nannies, tutors, housekeepers and senior caregivers, both locally and nationally, has closed $20m in funding.
The financing was led by New Enterprise Associates, with participation from existing investors, Matrix Partners and Trinity Ventures.
In conjunction with the financing, Tony Florence, a partner at NEA, will join Care.com’s board.
Founded in 2006, the company is located in Waltham, MA. Its service helps families select the best care available based on detailed profiles, background checks and references for thousands of mom-reviewed and pre-screened providers who seek to share their services. Through the Employer Program, corporations can offer Care.com memberships as a benefit to employees.
The company now intends to expand through corporate and government partnerships, customized senior care service offerings, and new vertical expansion beyond child care, special needs, elder care, pet care, tutoring and housekeeping.
