Nomadesk, a Ghent, Belgium-based developer of cloud storage and file sharing software, closed a $7m (approximately €5m) series B financing round.
Investors include new backer BAMS Angel Fund and existing shareholder Gimv.
The company will use the funds to accelerate the growth of its indirect business and further internationalize its team, especially in North America. Nomadesk has already closed partnerships with Belgian operators Telenet and Hostbasket, US-based Novatel Wireless and Canada’s Bell.
In conjunction with the funding, the company also appointed a new board of directors. On behalf of BAMS Angel Fund, Mr. Yvan Morel (former Managing Director of EDS BeLux) and Mr. Bart Luyten join the board.
Nomadesk’s cloud storage, file sharing and synchronization software is designed to enable users to access, share, synchronize and safeguard files from any location, online or offline. It allows users to send large files and folders of photos, videos or presentations through its FileLink and FolderLink features, as well as upload and publish any files or folders onto a website or blog with the Widget feature.
