Nasuni, a Natick, MA-based maker of a secure gateway to cloud storage that is designed to make the cloud feasible for business users, has closed $15m in Series B funding.
The round was led by Flybridge Capital Partners with participation from existing investors, North Bridge Venture Partners and Sigma Partners, who led the company’s Series A funding in March 2009.
This brings th total amount raised by the company to $23m in two rounds.
In conjunction with the funding, Chip Hazard, a General Partner at Flybridge Capital Partners, has joined Nasuni’s board of directors.
Jeffrey P. McCarthy, Partner at North Bridge, and Paul Flanagan, Managing Director with Sigma Partners, represent the existing investors.
The company intends to to use the funds to expand their market and offering in the year ahead.
Founded in 2009 by storage veterans and led by CEO Andres Rodriguez, Nasuni develops the Nasuni Filer, a virtual NAS file server that runs on VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix XenServer and leverages the resources of the cloud to simplify file storage and protection.
