Zendesk, a San Francisco, CA-based web-based help desk software provider, has closed $19m in Series C financing.
The round was led by Matrix Partners, with participation from Benchmark Capital and Charles River Ventures.
The company intends to use the new funding to expand markets for its web-based customer support software, which is designed to allow users to simplify the process and strengthen the effects of their customer service and support. Zendesk has also announced a tighter integration with Salesforce, allowing uninterrupted customer relationships across sales, marketing and customer service and support as well as enabling deeper reporting integration.
The company also provides mobile applications for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.
In conjunction with the funding, Dana Stalder, general partner at Matrix Partners, will join the company’s board of directors, which also includes Peter Fenton of Benchmark Capital and Devdutt Yellurkar of Charles River Ventures.
Founded in 2007, the company currently serves more than 5,000 businesses large and small, including Groupon, MSNBC, Twitter and Rackspace Cloud.
