Beneq Receives €9M Equity Investment

Beneq Oy, a Vantaa, Finland-based a supplier of equipment and coating technology for global markets, has received a €9m equity investment.
Investors include Finnish Industry Investment, Via Venture Partners and undisclosed private backers.
Beneq is a supplier of production and research equipment for advanced nano-scale thin film coatings used for example in solar cells, glass coatings, and flexible electronics, such as OLED lighting. Its coating applications are based on two enabling nanotechnology platforms: Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and aerosol coating (nHALO® and nAERO®).
The company is currently moving from piloting to industrial production.
Founded in 2005 and led by CEO Sampo Ahonen, Beneq currently employs over 60 people in its headquarters in Vantaa and in its sales offices in Germany, China and USA.
In 2010, the company’s turnover was approximately €10m.
