Formspring, a San Francisco, CA-based service that allows people to share personal responses, has received $11.5m in Series A financing.
The round, which was led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from Baseline Ventures and other investors, brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $14m. Existing investors include Floodgate Fund, Freestyle Capital, Polaris Ventures, Lowercase Capital, SV Angel, Founder Collective, Travis Kalanick, Dave Morin, Kevin Rose, Geoff Ralston and Todd Wagner.
The company intends to use the funding to grow its team, scale the website and expand the service. Formspring has just released a new “Respond” button, giving online publishers and content providers a new way to seek responses from consumers and increase traffic back to their sites.
Founded in November 2009 by CEO, Ade Olonoh, the company has 18 employees.
