Apperian, Inc., a Boston, MA-based cloud platform that allows businesses to create, deploy, and manage applications for Apple iOS-powered devices, and (in the near future) Android, has closed a $9.5m venture financing round.
Investors include North Bridge Venture Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers’ (KPCB) iFund, and existing backers CommonAngels and LaunchCapital.
Michael Skok, partner at North Bridge Venture Partners, and Bob Goodman, a founding partner in Bessemer Venture Partners’ New York office, will join the company’s board of directors.
Led by CEO David Patrick, Apperian helps developers accelerate app creation. Its EASE platform, which runs entirely in the cloud, lets IT deploy and manage mobile apps, while maintaining security and control.
Customers include Procter & Gamble, Dupont, AAA, Intuit, The Estee Lauder Companies, Cisco Systems, Talecris Biotherapeutics, NetApp and The MITRE Corporation.
