
The round was led by Columbia Capital, with participation from new investors City Light Capital and SilverHaze Partners as well as existing backers Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Paladin Capital Group.
The company intends to use the capital to increase infrastructure, including manufacturing.
Founded in 2001, DSC has developed a 3D facial recognition technology that is designed to help both commercial and government customers detect criminal and or terrorist activity, identify important customers, friendly soldiers, or frequent travelers.
In conjunction with the funding, Jim Fleming of Columbia Capital, Tom Groos of City Light Capital, Zeid Masri of SilverHaze Partners, and David Guttadauro DSC President and CEO have joined the company’s board of directors.
