First To File, a San Mateo, Calif.-based IP document management company, has closed a $2m Series B venture capital financing.
The round, which was led by existing investor Foundation Capital, brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $4m.
First To File intends to use the funds to extend its portfolio of IP document management and automation solutions and to grow its sales and marketing team.
The company has also introduced EFR® for Trademarks, a trademark document management solution, which is designed to complement its already existing Electronic File Room (EFR) patent document management product.
Led by CEO James Bergeron, First To File provides Web-based document management and prosecution automation capabilities to IP organizations and law firms of all sizes. The company’s Electronic File Room aims to reduces companies’ reliance on paper and the way they manage IP, increasing visibility, efficiency, and quality while reducing costs.
