Igloo, a Craven Arms, UK-based company that has developed a proprietary projection system that allows to create and design immersive audio-visual environments and experiences, has received an over £255k investment from Midven’s Exceed Fund.
The company aims to use the funds to advance its technology, develop new applications, and expand its marketing efforts. Igloo is currently adapting the technology for use in other applications including projection mapping, use in the intelligence sector, advertising and for floating balloon billboards.
The company has developed a proprietary software tool – the Igloo Media Player – that projects images to produce immersive audio-visual experiences incorporating, high definition, cinematic-quality video and studio-quality sound. For its venues, Igloo operates a range of geodesic domes, which can accommodate up to 1,000 people. It also contributes to live events and product launches and creates 360 degree installations on behalf of clients.

Led by CEO Dennis Wright, the company has already worked with clients such as Sky, Toyota, Miele and UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), and is now receiving enquiries from media and events companies worldwide (San Francisco, South Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe).
Igloo currently employs eight people.
