Kyruus, Inc., a Boston, MA-based healthcare company developing solutions for facilitating transparent physician engagements, has launched today with a $5.5M Series A venture capital financing.
The round was led by Highland Capital Partners and Venrock, and strategic investor Gerson Lehrman Group, with participation from angel investors including Jonathan Bush (CEO and Co-Founder of athenahealth), Ed Park (COO of athenahealth), John Goldsmith (Chairman of Lux Research) and James Golden (Partner at Accenture).
Co-founded in 2010 by Chief Executive Officer Graham Gardner and Chief Product Officer Julie Yoo, who already worked together at Generation Health, Kyruus aims to address the growing challenges and opportunities related to the interactions between physicians and other stakeholders in the healthcare system.
The company’s p3 technology platform is designed to unify public and proprietary healthcare data to create a view of physicians based on professional activities and interactions through their carriers (whether as researchers, educators, administrators, advisors, collaborators, speakers, or clinicians) as tracked across numerous information sources, and optimize the way in which they are matched with resources across healthcare organizations, colleagues, and patients.
Bob Higgins, a General Partner at Highland Capital Partners, is a member of Kyruus’s Board of Directors.
