Avanti Wind Systems, a Hillerød, Denmark-based company that develops and produces advanced lifts, ladders and safety systems used for service and maintenance of wind turbines, has received a majority investment of undisclosed amount from Polaris Private Equity.

Following Polaris’ acquisition of the majority stake, both the former majority shareholder, Søren
Midtgaard, Director of Business Development, and the two other minority shareholders will remain co-owners. Erik Laursen, Torben Bjerre-Madsen will continue as CEO and and Chairman of the Board, respectively.

The investment, which is still subject to the usual authority approvals, will help the company continue to grow.
In 2010, Avanti had a profit after tax of approximately DKK 20m. The company has 180 employees, whose majority are employed in sales and production units in Denmark, China, USA, Spain, India, Germany, Australia and England.
