Private equity firm BC Partners has signed an agreement to acquire Com Hem, a Stockholm, Sweden-based TV, broadband and telephony company, from The Carlyle Group and Providence Equity Partners.
The acquisition, whose amount remained undisclosed and completion is expected in September 2011 subject to receiving EU regulatory approval, aims to enable the company’s continued growth, through expanding its digital TV and high speed broadband offering.
Led by CEO Tomas Franzén, Com Hem ia s large distributor of TV, digital TV, broadband and telephony services. Established in 1983, the company has approximately 700 employees.
It was acquired by Carlyle and Providence from EQT in 2006. In the same year, they acquired UPC, which was integrated with Com Hem.
