Private equity firm Apax Partners and Deficom Telecom, a Luxembourg-based company comprising Deficom and Altice, have acquired the Belgian and Luxembourg operations of cable network operator Numericable.
Following the investment, the company’s capital will be owned by funds managed by Apax (40%), Altice (40%) and Deficom (20%).
The investment will enable Numericable Belgium/Luxembourg to rollout its Triple Play offer and make acquistions in the Benelux countries and other areas.
Led by Managing Director Pascal Dormal, the company has developed a range of Triple Play offers, which combine broadband Internet access, a wide digital TV offer (250 channels) and fixed-line telephony.
It is the leading cable operator in the Brussels region (approximately 110,000 subscribers), with a 25% share of the Luxembourg market (approximately 30,000 subscribers).
