Audacious, a Middlesbrough, UK-based start up developer of a new application that allows users to personalize their online search results, recently raised £100k from Northstar Ventures.
The company intends to use these funds to continue to develop the idea to the proof-of-concept stage.
Founded by Kevin Mann and Rachel Burns, former collegues at Graphic.ly, a Boulder, CO-based platform that allows users to download digital versions of comics, Audacious aims to help people navigate the internet, personalizing search engine results based on their specific interests and needs, cutting out irrelevant search results and content.
The product can be customised for a wide range of interests, with the potential to generate a number of spin-off companies, each of which building up specific areas.
