Janrain, a Portland, Oregon-based provider of social identity management solutions for businesses, has raised $15.5m in financing.
The round was led by Emergence Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Anthem Venture Partners, DFJ Frontier, RPM Ventures, Tim Draper, founder and CEO Larry Drebes and Square 1 Bank.
The company intends to use the funds to add resources and hire new employees across all existing functional teams.
Founded in 2005, Janrain provides SaaS solutions designed to support organizations in increasing acquisition and engagement by leveraging online users’ social profile. Solutions include social login, sharing to social networks and analytics required to measure and monitor social activities, registration and social profile storage.
Customers including brands such as MTV, Tribune, Meredith, AMC Networks, Rodale, HarperCollins, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Sears, Free People, Avis, Citysearch,
Universal Music Group, Postmedia Network, Whole Foods, National Geographic and Kodak, use the company’s products to access and store detailed user profiles, which can then be utilized to better serve online customers, personalize campaigns and inform future marketing strategies.
