KIXEYE, a San Francisco, CA-based independent game developer, has raised $18m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Jafco Ventures, with participation from existing investors Trinity Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
In conjunction with the funding, Joe Horowitz, managing general partner of Jafco will join KIXEYE’s Board of Directors along with Zynga founding team member Andrew Trader (A.T.).
The company intends to use the funds to expand its business with new hires and the development of additional titles.
Founded in 2007 and led by CEO Will Harbin, KIXEYE is responsible for titles including Backyard Monsters, Battle Pirates and Desktop Tower Defense.
