Zoove, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based company that offers “StarStar Numbers” to enable brands to connect with people on any mobile phone, has closed a $15m round of Series D funding.
The round was led by new investor Panorama Capital, with participation from existing investors Cardinal Venture Capital, Highland Capital Partners, and Worldview Technology Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to further accelerate its operations.
Led by CEO Joe Gillespie, Zoove operates an exclusive registry of StarStar Numbers that allow brands to connect with people on any mobile phone. With StarStar Numbers, consumers call the name of the brand they see being promoted (e.g. **BRAND) and be pushed that brand’s mobile app, Web page, coupon, videos etc., directly to their mobile phones, without using bar code readers. These numbers can be promoted as part of any marketing campaign, such as: billboards, print ads, TV and radio commercials, online ads and more. The company is currently the exclusive provider of StarStar Numbers for the largest wireless operators in the United States.
