CrunchFund: Something More About It

Now we know a bit more about CrunchFund, the early stage venture capital firm launched in September by TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington and Patrick Gallagher.

Subscribers in the $20 first fund include AOL, Austin Ventures, Accel Partners, Greylock Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, the founding partners of Andreessen Horowitz, the general partners of Benchmark Capital, Kevin Rose, Yuri Milner and Ron Conway.

The vehicle mainly focuses on investing in seed and early stage information technology companies and has already closed three transactions:

General Partner Patrick Gallagher, previously a partner at VantagePoint Capital Partners, spoke about the fund and its strategy on Bloomberg Television’s “Bloomberg West”:
