Songza.com, a Long Island City, NY-based free streaming music service, has closed a financing round of undisclosed amount.
Backers included Deep Fork Capital, Geoff Judge, co-founder of 24/7 Real Media, and an undisclosed strategic investor.
In conjunction with the funding, Mr. Judge has joined Songza’s Board of Directors.
Led by CEO and co-founder Elias Roman, Songza has launched free mobile apps for Apple and Android that create personalized and sharable music collections in the cloud. It features over 75,000 playlists created by people – including music experts, celebrities, artists and record labels – and allows users to create their own playlist on Songza.com website and share it with the community.
The application is available only in the US.
