Grockit, a San Francisco, CA-based social learning company, has received just over $7m in Series D venture funding.
The round was led by Atlas Venture, with participation from existing investors Benchmark Capital and Integral Capital Partners, and new investors NewSchools Venture Fund and GSV Capital Corp.(Nasdaq:GSVC).
The company intends to use the funds to expand both domestically and internationally.
Founded in 2007 by Farb Nivi and led by CEO Roy Gilbert, Grockit combines online tools such as social networking and gaming, with an adaptive learning platform to help students prepare for college entrance exams, including the SAT, ACT, GMAT, LSAT, and GRE.
